ABOUT ME
My name is Laurie Williams. I teach 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. I have a Bachelor's in Social Science from California Baptist University and a Master in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
I have a super supportive husband, four amazing children and golden retriever. I taught 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies in NC before children joined our family. I took 10 years off to work from home in the nonprofit sector, managing volunteers and strategic partnerships. Now that my children are school aged, I am so excited to be back in teaching again.
I grew up in Southern California as the daughter of a principal and teacher. Education was always a priority in my upbringing. I am a life-long learner and I hope to empower each student to fall in love with learning too.
I love to travel all over the world. My favorite destinations are Kigali, Rwanda and New York City, NY. I also love to read. I can often be found with my Kindle trying to sneak away for time to read! My favorite books are the Harry Potter series, These Is My Words and the Bible.
